This lake front A-frame cabin was purchased as an Airbnb, complete with the seller's own updates: painted white and grey walls, a drop-tile ceiling, florescent lighting, and zero charm left in this 1960s cabin. We removed the drop-tile ceiling exposing the original rustic pine. We continued restoring its charm by stripping the paint from the beams and painting the rest a deep green. Other renovations included:

  • redesigning the stairs for easier access

  • reconfiguring the kitchen to maximize layout

  • converting a storage closet to a full bath

  • added a wood-fire stove for cozy winters

  • replaced the 4 glass doors for 2 fixed windows and a sliding glass door which maximized the living room layout

  • added landscaping to soften the exterior

This Airbnb  cabin has returned to its 1960s rustic charm.
